I decided to name my blog "The Nest" because my kids would call our bed "The Nest". We would read in The Nest before bedtime and when my husband traveled, both kids would sleep in The Nest with me. Birds are my favorite animal. We have six cockatiels and one parakeet and I am an avid bird watcher. I've created an elaborate feeding station to feed our backyard birds that I can watch out of the window of my sewing room.
My son Greg is a senior in high school and will be going off to college next year. His school has their seniors complete a senior project (internship) during their last trimester. Greg will be leaving for Guatemala in less than four weeks to complete his project in micro-venturing with an organization called Social Entreprenur Corp. My son has left on Boy Scout trips for up to two weeks in the past but this leaving for eight weeks will be very lonely.
